I am a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and have treated over 20,000 patients since establishing Hunter Pain Clinic (now Hunter Pain Specialists), Australia's first multidisciplinary private pain clinic, in 1999.

During my clinical career I have conducted a number of world-first treatments, like the spinal cord stimulator implants, as well as first-in-man pain and device studies.

I am the Director of Hunter Pain Specialists, as well as Director of Hamilton Day Surgery and Genesis Research Services, and Co-Director of Innervate Pain Management Services. I was Co-Founder of the Newcastle Anaesthetic Peri-operative Service group.

I am also the founding president of the Neuromodulation Society of Australia and New Zealand (NSANZ), and former Secretary of the International Neuromodulation Society (INS).

In addition, I serve on the Examination Committee, the Professional Standards Committee, the Research and Innovation Committee, and the Procedures Working Group for the Faculty of Pain Medicine (ANZCA).

I'm a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, and an Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong.

My passion is furthering the boundaries of pain medicine and teaching colleagues in state-of-the-art pain management, contributing to the collective knowledge of my peers. With this in mind, I have published over 40 papers in the field of pain medicine and is a reviewer for the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), as well as a number of international journals.
